Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Plumb (“Plumb,” “we,” “our”) accessibility audit platform (the “Service”). By creating an account or running a scan, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Plumb provides automated accessibility scanning against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2, levels A, AA, and AAA), augmented by AI review on paid plans. We crawl URLs you submit, run axe-core in headless Chromium, optionally apply AI augmentation, and produce a downloadable Word report.

2. Important — not legal advice

Plumb reports are technical artifacts. They are not legal advice and they are not a guarantee of compliance with any law, regulation, or standard. Accessibility law varies by jurisdiction and is interpreted by courts and regulators, not by automated tools. If you need legal certainty, consult a qualified attorney.

Automated scanners (including ours) catch a meaningful but limited subset of WCAG issues. Industry research consistently puts that subset at 30–40% of all WCAG criteria. Complete conformance evaluation requires manual testing by trained accessibility professionals.

3. Account and authorized use

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Sign-in is via emailed magic-link; do not share these links with others. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

You may only scan websites you own or have explicit authorization to test. Submitting a URL to Plumb is a representation that you have the right to do so. We reserve the right to refuse scans against URLs we believe you do not own or have authorization to test.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to scan sites without authorization.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service beyond your normal use.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, per-tier page caps, or anti-abuse measures.
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any third party.
  • Resell, sublicense, or white-label Plumb reports without an explicit written agency agreement with us.
  • Use the Service in violation of applicable laws (export controls, sanctions, etc.).

5. Subscriptions and billing

  • Free tier: 10 pages per scan, 3 scans per day, watermarked reports. Free account required (no payment).
  • Standard ($49/month): 250 pages of audit per month, up to 100 pages per scan, AI-augmented reports, all WCAG 2.2 levels.
  • Pro ($199/month): 1,000 pages of audit per month, up to 500 pages per scan, priority queue, custom branding.

Subscriptions auto-renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard's billing portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access through that date. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

Page budgets reset on a 30-day rolling window from your earliest scan in the current cycle. Unused pages do not roll over. We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions remain on their current price through the next renewal.

6. Reports — your data, our license to deliver

You retain all ownership of the URLs you submit and the reports we generate. You grant us a limited license to process page content (via headless browser, axe-core, and AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy) solely to deliver the Service.

Generated reports are stored on your account and downloadable for the lifetime of your subscription. Download links sent by email expire after 7 days, but you can re-download any report from your dashboard.

7. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Scans may queue during high-traffic periods (Pro tier gets priority). Third-party dependencies (AI providers, email delivery, payment processing) may have their own outages that affect us.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plumb's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim. Plumb is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages — including lost profits, lost business, or legal-defense costs related to accessibility lawsuits.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Plumb harmless from any claim arising from your scanning of websites you didn't have authorization to scan, or from your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. On termination, your scan history is deleted within 30 days; you may request an export before that window closes.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be sent to your account email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Delaware, except that you may bring small-claims actions in your local jurisdiction.
