About

Why Plumb exists

Plumb was started because every other web-compliance scanner makes you choose: depth or breadth, polish or substance, fast or thorough. A real compliance audit needs all of those, and a consultant doing one by hand costs five figures and takes weeks. Plumb is a bet that one tool can do the work of a good audit in fifteen minutes for under a hundred dollars, and produce a deliverable a senior consultant would put their name on.

What we're trying to build

A scanner that earns its place on both the engineering team's dashboard and the GC's desk. That means three things have to be true at once:

  • The scan finds real issues — across accessibility, security, privacy, performance, and the industry-specific frameworks (HIPAA, PCI, FERPA, SOC 2) that gate enterprise contracts.
  • The report is a deliverable, not a CSV. A two-part PDF — leadership brief and technical remediation guide — that a compliance team can hand to their GC and an engineering team can hand to their sprint planning.
  • The product loops back on itself. Fix a finding, rescan with Plumb, see it close. No referrals to half a dozen other tools.

What we're explicitly not

A few honest negatives we say out loud:

  • We're not a legal opinion. Every report carries an “automated scan, not legal advice” disclaimer. Buyers should still engage qualified counsel.
  • We're not a replacement for manual accessibility testing by people with disabilities. Automated tools catch 30-40% of WCAG issues on a good day; the rest needs human review. Plumb makes the automated part fast so you can spend your manual-testing budget on what actually requires it.
  • We're not a governance dashboard for Fortune 500s. If you have 500 properties and a dedicated accessibility team, you probably want Siteimprove or Deque's enterprise platform — and our Compare page says so.
  • We're not US-and-international. Plumb scopes to U.S. obligations — ADA, CCPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FERPA, SOC 2. If your compliance surface is GDPR / EAA / AODA, we're not the right tool today.

Who builds it

Plumb is built by a small team based in the United States.
